Our planet is a gift given to us by God. It is meant to be loved, respected, cared for, and cherished. It is meant to be kept clean and beautiful. Why then is it being unloved, disrespected, and becoming dirty? The gift of our planet needs to be taken better care of or one day it may be destroyed.
When people pollute and litter they are ruining our gift. The gift of the Earth can not be replaced; we only have one shot with it. We cannot destroy one of the most beautiful gifts God has given to us. Natural resources, given by the Earth, are so important to our everyday lives, such as, the water we drink, soil we plant in, and the air we breathe. People need to realize that doing even the smallest things can help save our gift of the Earth.
Recycling, reusing, and conserving are all easy ways that we can make our world a beautiful and clean place to live. Throwing plastic bottles into a recycling bin instead of a garbage can is an easy step towards helping to save our environment. Another way to better our planet is by turning the computer off when you are not using it; that conserves energy. An example of reusing would be using both sides of a piece of paper, instead of using just one side and starting again on another page.
If more people took the time to do simple things like recycling our world would be a much cleaner and safer place to live. If something does not change soon we could lose one of the most precious gifts that could ever be given to us. Remember next time you have a plastic bottle to throw it in the recycle bin or when you see a piece of trash on the floor to pick it up and put it in the garbage. Little things can go a long way when you’re dealing with something as big as the planet.

  1. I agree wholeheartedly with this post. It is truly sad to see what our earth is succumbing to. I make sure that even if it is the smallest piece of trash that I throw it in the proper garbage can. My theory is that if we cannot start doing the small things then how can people even begin to think about attempting to fix the bigger problems? There are many people out there trying to fix these problems but we need to do our part as well to make the load on their shoulders a little less. For example, in the wall-e movie even though it was fictional it was very real in a way. In our society today people are ignoring our earth just as the people in the movie did. They destroyed the earth to the point they could not even live on it anymore. Now I know we will not be able to live in space like they did but like the great saying goes “you never know what you had until its gone.”

  2. I agree with this post completely, so many people do not realize how important it is to take care of the earth. Many do not realize how important the earth is, and they end up taking it for granted. There are people working hard to fix the some of these problems, but there are still so many people working against them - & not worrying about the earth. If everyone started to take pride in the earth now, then we would be able to turn things around for the future. We can not lose the natural resources we all depend so heavily on, and that is why it is important to protect the earth now. -alyssa

  3. Our planet - God's gift to us - is certainly changing because of our lack of interest in preserving it. Thank God for a generation of youth who want to work to save the planet.

  4. Along with the bloggers that preceded me, I agree with this post. I truly believe that every single individual on this planet has a part of nature that they would fight to keep, whether it be the beaches/ocean that many of us New Jerseyans love so much, or the nearby Pocono or Catskill Mountains. I personally find much of the nature around me to be an area to find tranquility and have grown rather fond of the local park in my town. I think we should all do the little things, as the original blogger said, because they make all the difference. I stopped taking notes in an effort to save paper. This is saving the environment, while infuriating my teachers at the same time. It is win-win. I would just like to conclude this blog by saying: all jokes aside, we need to continue our efforts to preserve one of the greatest gifts that God has given us.

  5. Our planet truely is a gift and we need to cherish it the way it was meant to be cherished. It's great to see that people really do want to make a difference and make this planet a better and cleaner place!

  6. I also believe that people need to take more time out of their day to pay attention to what they are doing and attempt to take better care of the earth. As stated we only have one shot and we have to take care of what we have before it is too late. By keeping the earth clean were making it a better and safer place to live. :]
